A Local Pub Loyalty Scheme That Fits Your Regulars

· Jasmine Apps

An illustrative hospitality scene for rewarding the regulars, with Jasmine Apps branding.

Local pub loyalty works best when the offer feels understandable in the setting guests already enjoy. Regulars may return for a quiz, Sunday food or a quiet weekday drink. Jasmine Loyalty can organise cards, points, rewards and achievements, but the pub needs to decide what it is encouraging and what it can sustain.

Start with one reason guests return

Choose an audience and a visit pattern you can realistically support. A dining-led pub and a drinks-led pub may want different first rewards. Review your own costs, the actual qualifying purchases and the periods the offer covers. Use an illustrative regular who visits after the weekly quiz to test whether the explanation makes sense. Do not claim the programme caused every repeat visit; many regulars would have returned because they like the venue anyway.

Check the result: The offer fits ordinary pub visits.

Keep the rules short and consistent

Explain how points are earned, which rewards are offered and where the guest can find the current rules. The venue's configured scheme controls those details; there is no universal Jasmine points-per-pound promise. Make the staff version match the guest-facing version. Avoid promoting cross-venue earning or redemption solely because several pubs share branding. Confirm the actual participating setup first, then state it clearly enough that another site can give the same answer.

Check the result: Every shift gives the same explanation.

Use recognition without confusing titles and rewards

The published app includes achievement titles grouped by tiers and separate VIP or Owner badges. Guests can wear one title. If the pub uses that feature, explain it as recognition within the scheme rather than a promise of a free item or special financial value. Confirm any bonus points and the supported settings before advertising them. A title that sounds like an offer can create a redemption dispute if the venue has never defined what it means.

Check the result: Recognition is not mistaken for spendable credit.

Brief every shift on the same transaction routine

Train staff to find the correct member, attach the card before payment and use the configured reward process. Cover the regular who has changed email, similar member names and a reward that is hidden for the season. Give disputes one authorised owner. Keep marketing preferences separate from membership and handle guest records discreetly. A warm invitation works better when the team can complete the promised action accurately, rather than quietly bypassing the scheme to avoid a difficult question.

Check the result: The same guest journey works across shifts.

Put the plan into practice

Use a small trial with a clear explanation, checked reward configuration and a weekly review of staff questions. Measure the activity and cost you can actually observe, then decide what to improve. Preserve the expectations of guests who earned points under an earlier set of rules.

Questions venue teams ask

Do regulars always need a discount? Recognition and a relevant reward can both be considered. Test what your audience values and what your configuration supports.

Does more membership prove more revenue? No. Review repeat participation, cost and existing visiting patterns rather than treating every member sale as additional.

Example from the actual app

The actual Edit package form can restrict a reward to selected venues. The Scheme can separately let cards work across the group. If a regular visits another property, staff should check both the card scope and the specific pub reward’s validity before promising it can be used there.

Use the checklist with a colleague who did not configure the workflow. Ask them to complete the ordinary task without coaching, then compare the result with the expected outcome. Record the point where they hesitate or need information from another shift. That observation gives you a specific improvement to make before extending the setup.
